Short Hiatus
Hi all. I'm heading back to the States for a short time to deliver a paper at a conference. I'll be back on the 16th of May, at which time we'll contiune on, so watch this space. In the meantime, feel free to leave some questions in the comments box that you would like to discuss when I return. Ta!

If the brain is merely a mechanical thing as Simon has said, what is "free will"?
I was answering you but my answer was so long I wrote a blog post instead on the subject!
In my post I've done my best to give a rigorous notion of free will unencumbered with religious or spiritual notions which nevertheless imho gives intuitive answers to various relevent questions.
